On Tuesday 5th July, South Korea experienced a magnitude 5 earthquake in the water only 52 kilometers off the southeastern coast. The earthquake was detected around 8:33 pm. The shock was detected across South and North Gyeongsang Province, including major cities such as Busan and Daegu.

To follow on from the event and to answer the questions arising, The Busan EFM Radio Station (http://tunein.com/radio/e-FM-905-Busan-s113829/) invited Professor Gopal Madabhushi - Head of Geotechnical & Environmental Group, Professor of Civil Engineering & Director of Schofield Centre - to give an interview and explain the nature of earthquakes. The short broadcast can be found here.
