Many congratulations to Diarmid Xu, a PhD student in Professor Gopal Madabhushi’s group, for winning the Cooling Prize competition for his work on the scour protection of offshore foundation for wind farms subjected to seismic liquefaction. The competition is held annually by the British Geotechnical Association (BGA) and is awarded to a geotechnical professional in the early stages of their career. Candidates submit a poster, and selected finalists present their poster at an evening meeting, at which the winner is selected by a panel of judges. Additional info here.
