Offshore Wind Farms for Deep Water Sites - The Future
At CUED, we are establishing a cross-disciplinary Experts Pool that aims to:
- Develop a holistic system based approach to Deep Water Wind Farms;
- Design of Mooring Systems for floating systems, foundations for offshore electric substations;
- Design Turbine blades using new materials;
- Minimise vibrations by better understanding damping in the super-structure as well as the hydro-dynamic and soil damping;
- Design Gear Boxes and Generators that can withstand vibrations.
