On Wednesday 21st September, Schofield Centrifuge Centre hosted an academic delegation from China on a fact-finding trip organised by China Britain Business Association.
Thirteen engineering academics from Ningxia University visited Cambridge with a focus on research in earthquake engineering. Director of the Centre, Professor Gopal Madabhushi guided the party through the centre showing and explaining the main equipment used on site including the 10m diameter Cambridge Geotechnical Centrifuge. The University of Cambridge PhD students based at SCC presented some of the current world renowned research projects conducted using the centrifuge and other equipment. After the tour and presentations, there was an opportunity to discuss and share knowledge and experience.
