Samy Garcia Torres of Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Group, who has recently completed her PhD under the supervision of Prof Gopal Madabhushi, has been awarded The Best Presentation Prize at the 1st International Symposium on Construction Resources for Environmentally Sustainable Technologies CREST 2020.
Samy presented her paper titled “Performance of Rubble Brick Drains in Earthquake-Induced Liquefaction Mitigation under Existing Buildings” that she co-authored with Prof Madabhushi at CREST 2020. The award carries a prize of € 150 from Springer Nature and a certificate. Previously Samy visited Japan under the Progress100 collaborative Project supported by the Kyushu University in Fukuoka.
