Biography
Murat studied after the Abitur at the Städtisches Gymnasium am Wirteltor in Düren (North Rhine-Westphalia) Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Aircraft Engineering at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences in Germany. He was awarded the Diplom degree (Dipl.-Ing. (FH)) with grade 1.6 (ECTS-Grade: B – very good). He continued at the same University and secured an MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering with grade 1.5 (ECTS-Grade: A – excellent). With the aid of funding through Festo Bildungsfonds and supervision of Professor Gopal Santana Phani Madabhushi, Murat was able to join the Geotechnical and Environmental Research Group at University of Cambridge as a part-time PhD student. He is a member of Emmanuel College.
