Biography:

Zhonglu joined the Geotechnical and Environmental Group in 2015 as a PhD student, under the supervision of Dr. Dongfang Liang. He is a member of Jesus College. Zhonglu’s current research investigates the flow mediated interaction between immersed cylinders by computational fluid dynamics. Zhonglu is the recipient of the Ford of Britain Fund (2016/2017), Jesus College Doctorate Research Fund (2016/2017), and Cambridge Philosophical Society Travel Grant (2017).

Zhonglu graduated from Hohai University in 2015 with a BEng degree in Harbour Channel and Coastal Engineering. He was sponsored by China Scholarship Council (2014-2015) to study, as an exchange student, in Dundee University, Scotland. During his exchange, he conducted numerical study on the generation and propagation 2009 Samoa-Tonga Tsunami using Cornell Multi-grid Coupled Tsunami Model.
