Professor Lord Mair gave the Royal Academy of Engineering Hinton Lecture on 24 November 2015.
The Hinton Lecture is the flagship annual lecture of the Royal Academy of Engineering. It is named after the late Lord Hinton of Bankside OM KBE FRS FEng, the first President of the Academy.
Lord Mair addressed the challenges of creating urban underground infrastructure, in particular the development of underground transport that is environmentally essential for many of our cities.
