Congratulations to Darren SC Chian, a PhD student of the Geotechnical & Environmental Research Group for being awarded the Best Presentation Award Plaque in recognition of his outstanding contributions as a young researcher in the 8th International Conference on Urban Earthquake Engineering, held in Tokyo, Japan in March 2011. The paper presented in the conference was titled “Displacement of Tunnels in Liquefied Sand Deposits”, co-authored with his supervisor, Dr Gopal Madabhushi.
