David O’Connor is a PhD student at the Cambridge University Engineering Department undertaking research in the field of contaminated land remediation. His educational background includes a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree from the University of Nottingham in the first class. Prior to starting his PhD, David gained over six years of professional consultancy experience with Golder Associates, undertaking a variety of geo-environmental services provided primarily to the nuclear and manufacturing market sectors. David’s experience primarily relates to contaminated land, including site investigation, conceptual modelling, risk assessment and remedial option appraisal and implementation.
David was awarded the ‘Golder Excellence Award 2010’, a Golder global award for technical quality and client service excellence.
David is undertaking research in permeable and low permeability reactive barriers for the remediation of contaminated land and groundwater.
