Jonathan joined the Geotechnical and Environmental Group in 2014 as a PhD student. He is a member of Christ’s College. Jonathan’s research investigates the simulation of hydrodynamics and pollutant transports in Poyang Lake of China, under the supervision of Dr. Dongfang Liang. Jonathan is funded by the Croucher Foundation Scholarship. He is also the recipient of Cambridge University Department of Engineering William George Collins Endowment Fund, School of Technology Fieldwork Fund, and Christ's College PhD Travel and Research Fund. Jonathan has conference proceedings from conferences including the River Flow 2016 - 8th International Conference on Fluvial Hydraulics, HIC 2016 - 12th International Conference on Hydroinformatics and CCSH 2016 - 2nd Conference of Global Chinese Scholars on Hydrodynamics, where he was awarded the Outstanding Student Paper Award.
Jonathan graduated from Imperial College London in 2012 with a MEng degree in Civil Engineering and the Associate of the City and Guilds Institute (ACGI). He then furthered his studies at University of Cambridge and obtained an MPhil degree (Distinction) in Engineering for Sustainable Development. His MPhil dissertation looked at saline wastewater treatment using halophilic bacteria.
